MLO 3 (secondary culture)
3.1 Students describe concepts of culture and use that understanding in their comparison of the Japanese culture with a second culture other than Japan.
3.2 Students will analyze and make connections between the perspectives, ways of thinking, behavioral practices, and cultural products of a second culture other than Japanese.
In order to meet the requirements of MLO 3.1 and 3.2 I engaged in a class about Latin American history and politics (3.2), often employing topics related to Japanese influence or comparison as the subject matter in assignments in that class, like my final presentation over animation in Latin America, a subject often overshadowed by Japanese and American success (3.1).
